“The 1st Dimension” by Josh Armstrong with demonstration by Sherri Gilkerson, Produced by NMSU College of Agriculture, Videography/Editing by Tomilee Turner. Produced by Armstrong Equine Services, Instructor: Josh Armstrong The “1st Dimension” with Josh Armstrong, is the clearest and simplest explanation yet of the relationship of horse and man. The basics of mental discipline and body control in the horse as well as the fundamentals of building a strong rider position are presented in a unique approach that shows not only what to do, but how to do it, and why it works. An emphasis is placed on understanding what motivates both the horse and the rider and the priorities involved in the communication between them. Armstrong’s easy to understand, comprehensive teaching style has placed him in demand as a clinician in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Located in La Mesa, New Mexico, the students he has trained have won numerous championship awards at state, regional, and national levels.
Doug & Dustie Householder I spent 8 weeks ( Dustie 2 weeks) this summer at Armstrong Equine, in La Mesa, New Mexico. I lived on the ranch in the guest house. I took 2 horses and rode 6 days per week. Nice complete horse facility, knowledgeable ranch staff, lots of activities ongoing each day, perfect weather, reasonable rates, good cattle and buffalo , and lots of shows in the area. Christian environment. Josh Armstrong very skilled horseman in many disciplines ( reining, cow-horse, roping) and great and easy/fun- to learn from teacher/coach. I left a more knowledgeable horsemen, better rider and more skilled trainer. Our horses improved tremendously in 8 weeks and are riding great here at home. I would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to step up /improve their home program. Doug Householder, College Station, Texas.
